Healthcare is the right of every individual but lack of quality infrastructure, dearth of qualified medical functionaries, and non- access to basic medicines and medical facilities thwarts its reach to 60% of population in India. A majority of 700 million people live in rural areas where the condition of medical facilities is deplorable. According to the official figures an estimated 60 million Indians fall into poverty annually on account of health costs. Even the center government has realized the importance of thrusting the health sector and therefore on March 15, 2017 the Cabinet cleared the new National Health Policy with the objective of reducing out of pocket expenditure on healthcare and raising public expenditure on health. PLAN Foundation is dedicated to fill the gap and help people to access the health services.
What we Do:
Health Education Program: Spreading awareness and knowledge about different health problems to the rural population especially Students and women.
Supporting school children and economically deprived people in access of health services through micro credit.
Organizing health check up camps in villages.
Upcoming program: Health Credit
PLAN Foundation is planning to establish an organised health credit system at Rampur District Shimla HP with aim to provide micro lending to the needy at hospital level.
