At PLAN Foundation, we believe that empowering women is essential for building strong families, resilient communities, and an inclusive society. Gender equality is not just a goal—it is a guiding principle that is integrated into every program, initiative, and partnership we undertake. We are committed to ensuring that women have equal opportunities to participate in decision-making, access resources, develop skills, and lead positive change in their communities.
Our approach to women empowerment goes beyond welfare. We focus on creating an enabling environment where women can realize their full potential through education, livelihood opportunities, leadership development, health awareness, and social inclusion. Every project implemented by PLAN Foundation includes a clear mandate to ensure meaningful participation of women, whether as beneficiaries, community volunteers, entrepreneurs, self-help group members, or local leaders. We actively collaborate with Panchayati Raj Institutions, government departments, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to promote gender-sensitive development practices.
Recognizing that many women continue to face discrimination, domestic violence, workplace harassment, and denial of their legal rights, PLAN Foundation also provides free legal support and guidance to women in need. Our team helps women understand their legal rights, connects them with appropriate authorities and legal aid services, and supports them in accessing justice with dignity and confidence. Through awareness campaigns and community outreach, we work to create safe environments where women can speak up against violence and discrimination without fear.
To further strengthen women's economic independence, PLAN Foundation has launched ASHA 2026, a dedicated initiative focused on women's empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. The program aims to equip women with vocational skills, entrepreneurship support, financial literacy, market linkages, and opportunities for income generation. By promoting self-employment, strengthening Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and facilitating access to government schemes and financial institutions, ASHA 2026 enables women to become financially independent and active contributors to their households and local economies.
We also organize capacity-building workshops, health and nutrition awareness sessions, digital literacy programs, leadership development initiatives, and financial inclusion campaigns to enhance women's confidence and capabilities. Special attention is given to women from vulnerable and marginalized communities, ensuring that no one is left behind in the development process.
At PLAN Foundation, we envision a society where every woman enjoys equal rights, lives free from violence and discrimination, and has the opportunity to lead a life of dignity, security, and self-reliance. Through our integrated approach and community-driven interventions, we continue to work towards creating an ecosystem where women are recognized not merely as beneficiaries but as leaders, innovators, and agents of sustainable development.
